Fire Safety!

For this week, we learned about fire safety and what it means to have a plan in place in case of an emergency. Using the safety plan that you created with your family, write a paragraph describing your plan. Remember to include what you would do in case of a fire, who you would call in case of an emergency, and whether or not you know your parent’s cell phone numbers by heart. Have fun with this writing assignment and remember to include how important it is to stay calm!  Oh...Don’t forget to STOP, DROP, and ROLL!

  1. This is what I would do if a fire was in my house. I would stop drop and roll I would keep doing that intel I get to my door. If a fire was spreading In my house I
would grab a phone quickly and call the fire department because if I didn't I wold die.

  2. What to do in case of a fire in your house!

If there is a fire in your house you should remain calm. When you remain calm, you can think better. Your family should have an evacuation plan that includes more than one way out of each room and, a place to meet outside. You should always call 911 for the police or firemen. It would help if you had a fire extinguisher in your house.

  3. If there was a fire in my house and I was in my mom's room, if the door was closed, I would feel the door and if it was hot, I would go out the window. I would throw out the ladder that hooks on the window. I wouldn't go look for my cats and dogs. When I got outside I would knock on the neighbors door and ask if they could call 911. When the firemen come, I would ask them to look for our dogs and cats. I know both of my parents cell phone numbers and our house address. We have a fire extinguisher in our house, in the pantry, that we would use if there was a grease fire. If there was a grease fire, I would not put water on it, but use the fire extinguisher. If you use water, it splatters the flames and grease. If there is fire on you, you STOP, DROP, AND ROLL. If there is a lot of fire near you and a lot of smoke, you should get on your hands and knees and crawl out, because heat and smoke rises, and it is bad to breathe it in.

Have you ever seen a fire before? Well I've never seen a fire. But I am going to tell you waht I would do if there was a fire in my house. Say there was a fire in the family room. First, I would emedietly get the phone and call nine-one-one. Then, I would escape out the only two backyard doors. I would wait for the firefighters to arrive. I don't know if I could go back in the house but if I could I would see all of the burnt toys and rugs and much more burnt things. I don't think there will ever be a fire in my house because I think it is very safe.

  5. Dear Friends,

I want to share some really important things about fire safety with you. Everybody should have a fire escape plan. We have a fire escape plan. We have 3 doors but 2 doors that go to a place that I cannot open. It is a gate with a latch and I cannot reach the latch but I know karate and I can kick it down but I would use the front door in an emergency. I have a dog and I would bring him with me because I don’t want to just protect me but I want to protect me and my brother and my dog. If I was in my room and the door was hot and I could smell smoke I would not open it but if there was a phone in the room I would call 911 if there was not a phone I would scream out the window. These are All the following things you should do to prevent fires… to make sure that electrical cords are in good condition and that appliances and lights are plugged into separate outlets and curtains and other things that can burn are away from the stove and that you should keep things that can burn that are made out of cloth like teddy bears and stuffed toys that could burn easily away from the stove or the heater. Also when you got fire on your clothes stop drop and roll then the fire will be out. Is very important to follow your safety plan because fires can kill you and harm you.
